24th Bn Sashastra Seema Bal Rangia, Assam rescues elephant calf

On 06.05.2024, information recived from reliable source that a baby elephant (about 09 days old) is wandering near by Village-Borangajuli. Based on input, BOP Nalapara shared information with Forest Department Nunakuthi and Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajagarh. Thereafter a joint rescue opration conducted with the team of Forest Department Nunakuthi and Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajagarh. While rescue opertation, a baby elephant rescued near Village-Borangajuli No.-01, Post-Nalapada, Police Station-Dimakuchi, District-Udalgudhi, approx 4.5 km away from Indo-Bhutan border inside India. Baby elephant was handed over to the Forest Department, Nunakuthi and Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajagarh (Assam) for further action. 24th Bn of Sashastra Seema Bal is continuously carrying out such operations to fulfill its duty of guarding the Indo-Bhutan border and proctecting the citizens living in border areas. We also organized meetings with bordering people to encourage and motivate them for provide their support against any illegal activities occurring in their area.
